Performance study on a printed circuit heat exchanger composed of novel airfoil fins for supercritical CO2 cycle cooling system

The printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) plays a vital role in the supercritical CO2 cooling system for hypersonic aircraft, which significantly affects efficiency and stability of system. In this study, novel structure is proposed to improve overall performance airfoil fin PCHE. RP-3 aviation kerosene SCO2 are used as working fluids study thermal-hydraulic enhancement mechanism. results indicate that PCHE can be improved by slotting fin. With increase groove thickness, thermal new first improves then worsens, while hydraulic worsens improves. Compared with original fin, thickness 0.6 mm reduces pressure drop up 15% without affecting performance, 0.1 increases transfer 4%-5%. addition, optimal mass-flow ratio obtained resistance matching under different conditions, helpful design optimization based on cycle scramjets.
